Luna Park

The first meeting for Supper Club! Luna Park was the place because it is nearly impossible to get a reservation for anytime other than 10pm currently at Pizzeria Mozza...I will get there someday though. Anyways, on to Luna Park...I had made reservations and upon arrival, they stuffed us in one of the very cozy back booths near the bathroom. Really...they could have done better than that, because when we got there, there were still tables open. Oh well.
Starting off with bread and "dipping sauce". For some reason they took forever getting the dipping sauce ready so we all stared hungrily at the bread for a bit, before they FINALLY brought a little dish with oil and stuff over. Bread is bread...this was d672 S. La Brea (near Wilshire)

Aaron, Jane and I shared some "Luna Park Carnival Dogs" - Assorted Sausage filled "Corndogs" with Assorted Mustards. The assorted mustards were a dijon, a yellow and a seedy chunky mustard. They were alright. I like corndogs in general, so this was a nice warm up. Decent mini sausage inside crispy fried batter on a stick is always a hit with me. This is Jane's "Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Sage Browned Butter Sauce with Toasted Pine Nuts and Parmesan Cheese". I tried a piece of it and it was really good - very earthy mushroomy, good flavor and tons of butter which makes everything better. I definitely think that if there's any kind of pasta that's best to have at a restaurant, it's ravioli.
Here's Anna's “Tasty Burger”. They used Niman Ranch Beef, so I approve. Anna likes her burgers well done, so when she got it and it was less than well done, they offered to cook it some more for her. That was nice. French fries were well done and crispy like Anna requested.
This is Aaron's Jerk Chicken -Grilled Half Chicken with Roasted Plantains and Sauteed Mustard Greens. I tried a piece of the chicken which was deboned beforehand (nice touch). Juicy and well flavored. The plantains looked good and carmelized. I'd probably say this was the best entree plate of the night. This is Dom's Cobb Salad: Grilled Chicken, Mixed Greens, Tomato, Egg, Bacon, Blue Cheese, Avocado. She said it was good. She also ordered:A side of mashed potatoes. I think their mashed potatoes were top notch- creamy, flavorful, whipped, with little chives. Very very good.
Also, I had FORGOTTEN to take a picture of MY OWN FOOD! I know! I'm such a dork. I had gotten the Breaded Pork Cutlet Stuffed with Mushrooms and Gruyere Cheese with Mashed Potatoes, String Beans and Apple-Cranberry Sauce. It was good, but I don't think I'd get it again. There wasn't anything that special about it other than the mashed potatoes.
Now onto the highlight of dinner - dessert! We were STRONGLY pushed to get the toffee pudding, so Aaron ordered it on behalf of Anna...check this action shot out!
Anna's pouring skills are top notch!! It was actually really good. Very sweet, good sauce, fresh whipped cream. The bready stuff was alright, but a little too dense for my taste. Aaron seemed to like this one especially.
Jane ordered the Warm Bread Pudding served with Vanilla Custard. This was awesome. The crust on the bread pudding was excellent, studded with berries and carmelized very nicely (although burned a bit, but it still tasted good.) The vanilla custard sauce was a good counterpoint to the flavors in the pudding...I liked it a lot.
Dom and I shared a Domino Cake - Layers of Chocolate Cake and Dark Chocolate Mousse Served with Chocolate Ice Cream. A chocolate lover's DREAM! So good...the domino chocolate wafers were actually made of a delicious dark creamy chocolate, which was a huge surprise to me. The mousse was decadent. A great choice for anyone who likes chocolate even a little bit.
Luna Park's scene was a little dark, trendy and crowded. It's not necessarily somewhere where I'd be itching to get back to, but I say it was good for our first supper club. (Thanks Supper Club-goers!)

WOW!
This place looks unbelievable. Every single dish had me salivating - some more than others.
Corn dogs with 3 mustards :P -I've never seen this at an unpscale restaurant.
Jerk Chicken and the burger. Both look amazing. I'm sure you're cutlet was good too.
Did you guys share?
